429 Dual Point distributors
which Ford year/model/ applications used dual point distributors in the 429 series engines? anyone have casting/part numbers?

TIA
Re: 429 Dual Point distributors
Don't know the casting number right off hand, but my guess would be 69/70 Boss 429, 70/71 CJ & SCJ and honorable mention would be 71 Boss 351 (they fit big blocks as well).

Just get an old Accel if you want Dual Points. In my opinion the extra set of points is not needed on most BBF's unless you are going to spin it past 6,500 Rpm's and even then they make stiff spring points. You may pick up a little more Dwell time but I doubt you will see much performance gain except with a high winding small block.

Re: 429 Dual Point distributors
My 70 429CJ/4 spd Torino Cobra had one. Swapped in a Unilite and that dual point sat in a milk crate of stuff for about 40 years until a buddy of mine was restoring a Boss 429 Mustang. He's a transmission guy and has helped me out a bunch over the years for peanuts so I gave it to him. He let me take that piece of history for a quick spin last year. Awesome experience!!!
