How wide of a power band does it need to have...?
20 some years ago, with only 500 cubic inches, a Pro Stock A460 headed , (Motorsport A460's), made in the area of 1,203 horsepower at 8,800 RPM.
This without the big lifts of today's aggressive cams and the MUCH better A460 heads that we have these days.

There were a few, I was in that dyno room to help change camshafts. I remember that new cam like it was almost yesterday ... 324-30/348-1 on 115 separation. A lot more advanced stuff these days.
Bob Glidden had his versions in 1987/1988, also.
