Put The T-Bird Away :(
Last ride for the year Into storage, the snow is gonna fly this week. Not happy about that!!
Gonna miss that big torque!!!
Maybe NEXT year I can get it to the track We kinda ran out of cash for tires this year. Hopefully business will be good this winter and I can put some new shoes on it and burn 'em off.

I need to get some et streets for the F150 too, it's starting to get to the point where it's spinning. When it gets the 545, it will definately need them, so I might as well get them on now. It's on my xmas list. I'll probably get shirts again, but it is on the list.

Re: Put The T-Bird Away :(
Bill, we already got snow up NORF here. we got about 3-4 inches on the ground. The one good thing is its been snowing a little bit each night, so no big shoveling jobs. I hope we dont get a big dumping till i get the 4 wheeler back.
The weird thing is i heard on the news last weekend they caught 4 people drinking and driving. One was on a snow mobile.... Last weekend we had about an inch of snow... Guys must be getting antsy to get out on those GD noisemakers. THey really annoy me here as theres a trail right behind my house, and the lake just 2 blocks down. It also seems like they all have stingers on them. This year wont be so bad as last, no more shift work at the mine so no weekends. It wasnt pleasant having them tear around here friday and saturday nights till 4 when i had to get up at 5. Theres a bar a couple of blocks away that is on the shore of the lake, so they all go there, get hammered, and drive around the lake till the wee hours.

We have been lucky so far with the snow. We often have several inches on the ground by now. I feel for ya having that much already.
I am always surprised how many folks drink and sled. Seems to be the thing to do, bring a bottle or a box of beer and go rip through the trails. They are all lined up outside the bars and none of 'em get caught. Then you hear about one wrapped around a tree, hmmmm.

ON the trails here they do checkstops and they CAN get them cause you get trapped on the trails.
out on the lake they do whatever they want, as the Kiddy sleds the cops use (5-600cc's) they dont have a hope of catching the guys riding 800's, and 1000's, or the big yamaha 4 strokes....
I dont understand the drinking too.... doesn't make sense.. wrap around a tree, or like back on the prairies find an electric fence and decapatate themselves.

Its funny how a 600cc sled is considered to be a "small" sled, I remember when a 440 was the BIG one!!
Thing is, these big HP sleds get a drunk into trouble alot faster too. They ride so smooth that you don't even realize how fast you going then like you said, a wire fence "takes a bit off the top."

Yeah, most have put their cars away several weeks ago, I try and put it off as long as I can.
Day before yesterday they were spraying salt brine down like crazy. Bunch of rain and then freezing temps then snow. Got it tucked away just in time!!

Re: Put The T-Bird Away :(
A shop i used to work for, the owner rented out space to local truckers to park their rigs.
When they'd be home for a couple days, park the truck in the shop the snow would melt and as it ran to the floor drain there'd be a crusty salt ring all along the edges of the low spot in the floor to the drain. I would estimate there was an inch wide ring 60+ feet long on each side. Thats just off the truck. trailers stayed outside. Thats too much.

Re: Put The T-Bird Away :(
When we had our truck you could not get that sh*t rinsed off. You could wash and rinse all you wanted, it would still seep out of all the seams and cracks. And what it did to polished aluminum was terrible. Alot of guys that wanted to keep their wheels nice for the truck shows actually had to go buy a second set of rims for the summer. They would spray their tanks and battery boxes with a thick layer of WD40 to protect them. Nasty stuff.

Re: Put The T-Bird Away :(
Hey, i like my stuff looking good, but, Saskatchewan mags (wagon wheels), panted tanks, and black single exhaust get paid the same amount per load.
I keep buggin my best friend to run his bail hauler Truck on the ice roads. Its an old L9000, wagon wheels and rubber block suspension, and an 855 cummins. Not much to go wrong there.
Broken springs and airbags are pretty common up there.
Might be a little tough on the back though. I know in the non-air passenger seat it was rough on the manitoba highways.

Yep the Manitoba roads are hard on the back WITH an air ride seat!! They seem to be getting a bit better the last year or so.
I was watching the re-runs of the last couple of shows of the Ice Road Truckers. It was in the spring and there was water on top of the ice and they are still running loads. Takes a special kind of crazy....
