rocker arm girdle when is it worth while or needed
this is vague but when is it needed or good to have a rocker arm stud girdle like the jomar or crane sells
is it Rpm ? or camshaft /spring pressure ?
im using eddelbrock heads with harland sharp rocker arms shouldnt turn anymore than 6500-6700 rpm
anyones input on this greatly appreciated and any preference on brand if needed ?
adjusting lash the same with or with out ?
Id rather not have to use one , but if needed i would get one

I ran a .750 lift roller cam with about 220# of spring on the seat, don't remember what open was, without a girdle, and never had any valvetrain issues. I went to a .800 lift cam that was a little more aggressive with a little more spring and decided to use a girdle with that set-up.

NEED is defined differently to different people.
Just because not having one won't necessarily lead to valve train breakage does not mean it would not be a benefit for one to be there..

If you don't want a more stable valve train
If you don't want the extra power available
If you don't want the extra protection against pulling a stud
If you don't want a longer life for parts involved
If you don't want that extra piece of mind against breakage
Then you don't NEED one.

Can some one recommend one for a A429 heads? I have used a comp and currently have crane and am not impressed with the alignment of either.

Whenever the rocker stud starts to deflect.
Which happens to some degree when you engage the starter.

If you're referring to stud girdles use Jomar. If memory serves me correctly from other inquires in past years there was a machining issue with the early heads so Jomar makes two part numbers to deal with both early and later heads. So you will need the serial numbers off your heads to get the right one, and as far as I know they are the only ones that offer that option.
Re: rocker arm girdle when is it worth while or needed
I used Jomar girdles on mine. You need to know the serial number on your heads, they have 2 different girdles depending on early or late.

Saw that on their web site today. Just so happened that I had the covers off so I was able to get the serial number.
Re: rocker arm girdle when is it worth while or needed
I have a set I bought for mine the comp cam brand but they don't fit mine the valve angle is a little off. I can get the number off of them to see if they will fit yours I bought them off here he said he had them on a set of a429 heads.
