Torque value on oil pump
Have a 84-d oil pump I'm putting on a 429.
What is torque spec for the 1/4" cover bolts?
What is torque specs for the 2 mounting bolts?
Is it suggested that studs be used instead of the mounting bolts.

Re: Torque value on oil pump
I use 6-8 on the cover bolts and 35-40 on the pump to block mounting bolts. Others will have different opinions I'm sure.

That is as good as any for a general torque ... a lot will depend upon the fasteners used.

Does this OP have two identities here ...?
The gasket being there or not will not make any difference as to the amount of stretch of the fastener.
