switching cabs on f-350???

hi guys, i was wondering if i have to change the computers around on this truck. i took the cab off a 96 f150 and put it on my 94 f350 plow truck cause it is in excellent shape, i did the wiring. the truck started for a second, then quit. and it wont start again. the fuel pump engages when i turn on the key. but the truck just spins. it will start on either. the check engine light comes on the way it is suppose to. so do i have to seap computers?? the 94 has a 5.8 and the 96 has a 5.0. both trucks ran before i swapped cabs. the 96 engine is pretty much wore out, alot of blowby. i would just swap computers but the computer from the 96 has a little bit wider clip on it where it plugs onto the wire harness. i can swap the wire harness also. not too big a job. but if i dont have to . i wont.
any help would be appreciated. thanks, kyle

I did alot of that yrs ago. I found switch everything less trouble in the end.

The computers will have to be changed. I'm doing the same switch in my brother in laws 96 as we speak. I need a crossover pipe and a smog pump and I'm ready to fire it up.Do you have any parts left over?

i have everything off the 302. but i dont think it would be worthwhile shipping to you as i am in ontario canada. i am going over now to change the wiring harnesses over. thanks for the replys.kyle

i suspected i had to change the computer, so i already had it out of the old cab, just unhooked the harness in the new cab one corner at a time and hooked up the old harness so i didnt loose the plug locations, i think i invented a few new swear words.lol
