Where are you at, I have a crank and oil pump(for rear sump) that you can have but shipping will be a killer on the crank.

I'm in Mobile Alabama. I'm looking to replace the parts soon. Thinks I need. Crank stock stroke , timing cover , front sump oil pump. Also need a crank spacer and dust shield on the back side. Never had these to begin with. Nothing else was hurt . Despite the accident I installed the engine in the truck anyway to check fit . This is a custom build with a tube chassie. Header on left hitting so far. I will have to remove the collector and reclock it inwards. Thanks for the offer but I don't think you are on the same piece of dirt as me. lol

You are right, we are on a different piece of dirt, I am sure the other stroker guys in your area have some good stock cranks lying around...Good job with installing it anyways knowing it needs to come out, get the flat bar or angle iron out, drill a hole, add a bolt, and put a tip over bar on the front of that stand.

The 580 is on my good four leg stand. This stand will probably get pushed to the road. I'm gonna order another stand. Timing cover and dust shield is on order so far. I will recover.

Did that same thing years ago with a BB Chev and 3 legged engine stand, luckily it was just a chev!
Welded a piece of square tubing across the third leg and added 2 more casters, never happened again.

Been there. Didn't hurt the motor, but carved a big gash in the side of my new job trailer

Re: Disaster . Three leg engine stands suck
I've never had that happen and we've got a few of the three wheel ones around the shop. With that said I don't push my luck and only use the little three wheeled ones on smaller engines. Thinking back about 20 years ago I was helping a friend who was building a 440 Chrysler degree in his cam. He had the engine on one of those cheap-O three wheel light weight stands and I noticed that he had welded a piece of angle iron between the upright and the bottom leg. He said that when he was putting the engine together he started to notice that every time he added another piece to the engine the stand sagged lower and lower so he jacked it up again and added the brace.

Mike Stevens has several of the best engine stands I have ever seen. I've forgotten who he said built them but they are heavy duty. Maybe he'll see this and chime in with info and photos. Wish I had a half dozen of them.
Re: Disaster . Three leg engine stands suck
The stands I have, were built by Jim Zale, anAustralian friend of my Dad's..
He use to sell them at the Long Beach swap meet in SoCal...
As Doug said, these things are heavy duty
One is even a fire up stand for running engines before they are installed..
