Building a 429 mild performance motor.

Top Photo - shows the 429 rear main cap and what looks like a place in the middle of where the oil seal goes and it has been cut or smoothed off.  Is this correct.  Is that what you see in this?

Bottom Photo - shows a hole in the block just below the rear main bearing.  Is this a oil drainback hole? I assume this isn't supposed to be blocked!

My question comes from that I have heard that you fill the hole with silicone of the pin that is knocked out from the old cap.  I don't see this situation in this block or cap, do you?

what you see in the lower cap is a hole from where a pin used to be,it held the rope seal from the factory.

now it should be ground clear, and flush so as not to cut or nick rubber seal, the other hole dont touch

your good to go
