Looking for Tranny Shop in Orlando FL area
My 6000lb 4x4 with mild 460 and C6 has been slipping when I spray. I checked/tightened the bands last year but it did't help (or didn't last).
The spray is 150HP so with engine that's about 600-625HP through the tranny - not a lot comapred to what I see other running on the forum.
The C6 is stock except for 2800 stall converter and deep pan and cooler. I've got probably under 30K miles on the tranny.
I would like to get the tranny rebuilt locally (I can pull and deliver to local shop) but I don't know of any good shops in my area. If anyone has knowledge or suggestion that can help, I would appreciate hearing from you. Maybe the chain store rebuilders (like All Transmission World) are capable of a stock rebuild, but this time I want to add some extra protection - so I need someone that know performance upgrades.
My other option is that I can get a rebuilt "performance" C6 via internet and have it shipped to me. But shipping costs (and returning core) add some $. If I can get this work done locally I would rather save those $.
Thanks.

I have a buddy(Jimmy Patton) who owns Total Performance 4x4 in Ocala, Fl, about 75 miles north of Orlando. Jim builds C6's for the local 4x4 crowd, he has done 2 for me so far and have been extremely happy. He won't sell you something you don't need or "short" you in any way, most honest guy I know in the automotive business. Total Performance 4x4 (352)732-6646, If you call tell him Todd with the Ranchero referred you, you may get a chuckle out of him. Not sure if he can get right on it, for he just had shoulder surgery a month or so back, but he is worth the phone call. Good luck with whoever you choose.

Thanks Todd.
Now I need to do some reading on this forum, to get an idea of what parts "should" be installed. That will give me an idea if the shop knows what its talking about. I've been to a lot of of performance-transmission websites and many of them don't even say what components they are "beefing up" in their performance builds (they just give a HP and a price).
I'm just looking for a tranny that can handle around 650ish hp with good street manners.

Totally understand, the point of contact (Total Performance) may give you another option for your trans or other driveline work/parts.

I'm probably going to go with the Broader Performance 700HP C6 build: http://www.broaderperformance.com/10-ford-c6- . Nice list of parts and pretty affordable.
I just need to see what shipping from TX to FL costs.
