552 header advice
Looking to get header advice/recommendations for my 552ci build. I'm currently running a 2" fender exit header but need to move to chassis exit. Intended use is mud, mud drags, sand, and a lot of street driving.
My questions is, of the below options what do I gain/lose with one of the below options?
Option A: 1-7/8” primary with 3” collector – long tube headers
Option B: 1-7/8" primary with 3" collector - shorty (Sanderson FF463)
Option C: 1-3/4 primary with 2-1/2 collector – shorty (mid-length header)
Option D: 1-3/4 primary stepped to 2” stepped to 2-1/2” – tri-y headers
Additional Specs:
-1979 bronco @ about 5400lbs
-10.99:1 compression
-out of the box AFR 285cc heads (flow 396/267 @ .600)
-AFR 4150 intake
-Quick Fuel 1050
-Broader Performance C6 with flash stall of 3500
-42.5" tires with 5.38:1 gears
Cam specs:
Solid flat tappet
I = 255@.050, .623 lift
E = 259@.050, .637 lift
116 lobe sep, installed at 110

What is going to be the max rpm range this engine sees?

Re: 552 header advice
You need to look for other option, those are all small forthe build you have described

Re: 552 header advice
You will need a 2" header for the rpm range you want to run it. 1 7/8" will choke it at around 4800-5000 rpm.
