BBF get's it done! Wins Australian Championship
The weekend just gone was the final round of our Australian Championship. I was in third in the points.
For me to win I needed the guy leading, to go out first round, which he did.
I top qualified which gave me the bye into the final, once I got through second round. That gave me enough point win or lose in the final to take the championship.
But. My best mate was in second in points and he made the final as well.
So it came down to who ever wins the final is the Australian Super Gas Champion.
We got it done.
Event win and Championship win.
So, I want to thank Lem and Charlie for all there help and all the other contributors on this site. Helps me keep my BBF going.
There was lots off brand X tears. As they where getting put on the trailer.
Cheers Colin

Thanks Guys.
Sorry to disappoint Mav, it's not a Ford body.
It's a 1983 Celica with a 572 BBF

Whatever works for you Colin.
I understand there is very few 2-door cars over there.
I looks smashing!
Cheers.

It's a 4.5" bore x 4.5" stroke. A460 block. P51 cylinder heads ported by Charlie. Victor manifold with a 2 circuit 1150 Holley.
Rather small cam 256°/266° @ .050" (edit: 271°/280° @ 050") just over .700" without lash.
The car weighs 2500# with me in it.
Powerglide and I leave @ 5800 on the pro tree. 4.11 rear.
Cross the line @ 7200
I don't run it flat out very often but when I did it ran 8.60 @ 162

That cam is pretty small on duration at .050,just wandering what the compression ratio is?

Re: BBF get's it done! Wins Australian Championship
I got the duration @ 050" wrong.
Should read 271°/280° @ .050"
14.2 to 1 compression.
