Bt injected tunnel ram with carbs ?
Does anyone know if it is possible to make a top for the blue thunder tunnel ram to fit carbs and it work properly ,instead of its intended purpose (injection). Looking for a better tunnel ram than a Weiand . But dont want to pay for a hogan just yet. My engine has p51s on it.

Which BT TR are you talking about?

Trying to look for other options before going to hogan
Here's the one I am referring 2 .goodvibrationsmotorsports. com/Blue-Thunder-BBF-Tunnel-Ram.aspx
I am a machinist and can make a top for but would it work with carbs .

Just looking for a manifold in between the weiand and a hogan . It's going on a 545 , with p51 heads . 12to1, bullet cams solid roller . Nitrous engine . In a jet boat sees rpms of around 7500 on the squeeze . I have a port matched trick flow mafia now with a 1150 dominator .

You "could" make a top for carbs to fit that intake but it would never work very well. That's part of the problem with conventional head 385 series...not a very good performance manifold selection especially when it comes to TR's.

Re: Bt injected tunnel ram with carbs ?
IDK why they call it a tunnel ram. It is an injector manifold made for an injector hat. The runners are large but very short. To me it looks exactly like the BT blower manifold but without the blower mounting flange.
Mine had a top plate on it for what you described for use with two dominators. You have to mill the inside of the manifold as seen in my pics. I bought it from the guy that makes the other Boss 429 heads and I have never used it myself. Blake has seen it so maybe he would have some thoughts on how well it may work.

No, my plan was to convert it to efi and give it a whirl.

Hopefully come one has done this with carbs and can chime in . Would be nice to plumb it for a fogger. If it works

Re: Bt injected tunnel ram with carbs ?
It would be somewhat similar to the old FE Tunnel port wedge manifold...but not quite...

For carb use, it looks like you would have to do more than just make a top plate for it.
The short runners would be more oriented towards high RPM. You would have to somehow make some type of runner extensions inside to make them longer and lower the power curve to a lower RPM.
But how long??...what shape??....it would be kinda fun to just tinker with it and see what works best.
