Tube/Pipe Bending?
Does anybody on here have the capability to bend 1" Schedule 40 aluminum pipe with a 90 degree bend?
Re: Tube/Pipe Bending?
TBH I don't know if a manual drag/draw through bender (like say a JD2) could bend aluminum tubing/pipe without damaging it (collapsing, galling, snapping, etc). What alloy aluminum the pipe/tubing is made also probably makes a difference too.
Also is it sized as "tubing" (1" OD), or sized as "pipe" (1" ID)

It's a piece for my boat, so I would prefer a marine grade like 5086 and it has to be sized as pipe, 1" Schedule 40 with OD of 1.315" and ID of 1.049".

What about buying an 90° aluminum elbow? You're a pretty good welder.

Thanks for the info but I not to sure a conduit bender will work. I think conduit has different diameters than pipe or tubing.

I have considered that option too but I think I may have found a place online that can do the job, just waiting to hear back from them.
Re: Tube/Pipe Bending?

Re: Tube/Pipe Bending?
I found a business down in Florida called Custom Pipe Design that is going to make the piece for me at very reasonable price. They specialize in making T Tops, Tuna Towers, Radar Arch's, etc. for the marine industry and some major boat manufacturers. Very nice people to deal with and no job is to small, owner told me he will have it made today and shipped. Cool!
