Rings Empty Rings

Need some help, was wondering if I can take .060 over compression rings and file fit them for standard bore ? If not can you explain. Thanks

.006" over ... yea. ____________ .060" oversize ... not a chance it could seal ok.

Because their diameter is made to match the bore size. You cut em down too much and there will be gaps between the rings and the cylinder walls.....which would be like not running any rings at all!!
