Hey Guys
just wanted to make sure Im on the right track here. I read all the build info in the pinned thread and this is where Im at. this is going in a 95 mustang for my daughter to drive. she is currently killing the 5.0 aode with 150 shot NOS.
D1ve block .030
fresh rings and bearings
stock internals 3.85 stroke
c8ve heads with mild port clean up
stock valves
comp springs
stealth intake non cj
850 carb
comp cam 292H 560/560 244@.50 lsa110 Ic106
17/8 headers
3000 converter
c-6
looking for 450hp ish

Re: on the right track
For your daughter to drive where? Strip only, street/strip, daily driver.
Which stock pistons? So as to determine compression ratio for camshaft selection.
C8 heads have a poor intake to exhaust flow ratio, so a cam with the same intake and exhaust duration will not let the cylinder blow down sufficiently at higher RPMs. IMO the engine would like a cam with more exhaust duration than intake duration.
I believe there are better intake manifolds available if the car is to be a daily driver or even a street/strip car. For instance, an Edelbrock RPM.

Re: on the right track
Just a strip only car. This engine is basically a replacement mule for the car until we can build a stroker. These are parts ive had on shelf for awhile. And her 5.0 is dying quick
The stock pistons we have have a small dish in the center

It will be fine for something that is temporary. It will all work, of course a better camshaft will help power, but if it's something you already have, run it!!

Re: on the right track
I would not use the Stealth and get an Edelbrock Performer RPM or older FRPP clone ... unless this engine is to live at wide open throttle which a strip ONLY car probably will.
Get a more beneficial camshaft in any case...
