In need of 460 Truck Mounts
Workin on a 1980 F-350. Originally the truck had a 400, but I'm replacing it wiith a 460. I've ALMOST made 2 other deals on mounts, but they've both ended up falling through. The 460 was not available in '80-'82, so I'll need the Frame Stands, Mounts, and Block Plates for a 1983-1997 Ford Truck. Anyone got a set they're willing to part with?

Re: In need of 460 Truck Mounts
I have a set of block mounts for a 460 which was removed from a 1979, was told the truck was a f250/350. I do not have frame stands or insulators. I do not know if the will work for your year, I think they are different though. I can could email you some pics if needed. I know Greg P does have a set of the block mounts from an 1986 model truck that had a 460.

I don't have the frame stands handy, but I do have this as of today.....1989 250 2wd w/ 460.
Can't say when I'll be tearing into it to part it out just yet....How soon do you need the mounts?

I've got the engine and trans out of this truck, are you still needing the frame stands?
They look like a major PITA to get removed....

Ok, I had to haul off the carcass, so I went ahead and got to grinding some rivets. I was right, it was a major PITA.
Anyway, I sifted through the three sets of truck insulators I had and grabbed the best two.
So, we have frame stands, insulators, and block plates, along with attaching hardware.

Hey rusty bolts, give me a call at 214 697 7835 and let me know if you still want these mounts. If not I will offer them up for sale again, no big deal.
Thanks,
Greg

Try center punching the rivets, drilling a smallish... 1/8" hole through, then using a cheapo unibit (stepbit) to enlarge the hole to the point the majority of the rivet head is nearly gone, without enlarging the original hole... then grinding as needed. Getting rid of the majority of the rivet head cuts down on grind time, imo.

Re: In need of 460 Truck Mounts
Sorry it's taken me so long to reply guys, I've been having trouble logging on to the site for the past couple months.
Anyhow, after talking to my Grandpa about it in February, I've found out I may not need that stuff at all.
While Grandpa had the engine apart to rebuild it, he had the block in and out of the bay plus bolted and unbolted from the transmission several times, so that he could get a set of adapters fabricated.
When I got home for spring break last wednesday, I went to his abandoned old shop (moved to texas) where the truck sits. Among checking out other things, I took some measurements of the setup, and it looks like it all should work. I hope it does, but if it don't, well, I know where to go to get the stuff I need.
