"Headers were dyno-tech big block Chevy's with a adapter to the ford head, 2 1/4 to 2 3/8, 32 inch long primaries with a 5 inch collector.
Makes you wonder if you can get too big a carb or too big a header on these engines. They always amaze me."
I hear you. I'm all in for your 1450 QFX but, I'm out on the bigger exhaust pipe dia.

in the Future Cartwright remember you can't do this with out consulting the Professionals. end of subject.
Oh and Up yours Cartwright
yours truly Albert
Old Albert always shows up at just the right time...
Good job on the build. Gives me confidence that my P51 headed 514 will make some good power. May need a cam change but I'll run it with Fabio's old junk roller and see what she does for 2018.

reason I asked I have witnessed 26* on alky run faster at the 1/8 mile dyno.Lem Evans wrote:IDT-572 wrote:. 33 is as low as we went. Everybody says higher timing on alky, but this deal didn't like more.cool40 wrote:How low did you go with timing on alky? I would have figured less would net more..... great numbers!
Most of the time it's better to forget what you heard and just believe what you witness.
BTW....good job.

I wished we would have tried a lower setting. I will have Kerry try dropping the timing at the track. When we lowered it on the dyno to 33 it carried the hp peak just a tick higher in the rpm range.
