Post  63boxtop December 15th 2009, 11:57 pm

anyone know a site for figuring this, getting my rearend housing built and i new set of 35 spline axles so the 3rd member is next and i need to figure out what gear is going to be best for me both now and future engine/trans build car is as follows

63 ford galaxie
3600 lbs with driver
11:1 557 solid roller 700 hp
peak power is at 7000
c-6 with 3500 stall standard first gear ratio
rear tire is 29X10.5x15

originally my motor was built for street strip but i'm moving towards more strip but it will be next winter before i will pull the trans and get the right convertor for it, i have yet to take the car down the track since with the little bit of goofing off on the street i have done i twisted some axles and pulled a tube on the housing, so i'm fixing all that now

thanks for any advice

rick

Based on my simulation program I would try 4.10's or even 3.89.

4.56 be close. Heavy car, tight convereter. I'd get a plyback tach and after its all said and done fine tune the combo. I own 4 sets of pro gears myself, its not a one time thing IMO.......just like the converter.....
