unshrouding the valves ...can you help Charlie

so i have heard this term being thrown around alot lately. Charlie can you briefly go into the theory of unshrouding valves. Why is a canted valve better then a non-canted valve ? Does valve lift change the amout of unshrouding ...also does flow/velocity change because of unshrouding of the valves ?
