Boost and efi
I'm looking to add efi to an 8-71. I was wondering if anyone has tried putting injectors pointingdown on either side (front and rear) of centrally located throttle body. Has anyone done this. Are there any concerns I need to be aware of. Thanks.

My EFI guy has stuff to put EFI on blower, including cool adapters to put injectors in the MFI holes, and distribution blocks for the fuel lines. Give him a look on Facebook at JS Powersports , Mission B.C.

Re: Boost and efi
I've seen similar set ups and actually found adapters from alkydigger that turn injectors into screen in type, was looking to do a regular enderle hat, but cannot find a good deal on a setup, so was looking into throttle.body and vertivle injectors. Along with it directs fuel where you want it into stead of firing across the hat at the opposite wall. Not a big enough system to need multipoint injection, it's a mild street car. Thanks I am looking up the Facebook and asking questions.

Re: Boost and efi
Holley makes an adapter to go on top of the blower but like Alky Diggers stuff it is not cheap.

The Joe Blow stuff that goes in the injector hat is cool but not cheap (Alky Digger).
If you are cheap you can make your own using a blower hat spacer. I bought one on ebay.

Or using your dual carb adapter.

Buy the injector tool from Ross Machine and drill your own holes on a mill or drill press.

Buy universal rails and drill them too.
Then use whatever throttle body you want on top.

was looking at these, and instead of trying to drill a 3" blower spacer at an angle, figured if I used a single 4500 plate could put 3-4 injectors (this is a mild setup, 6 injectors could be plenty. in front of and behind the throttle body, would not be the most even distribution but I feel would be sufficient to mix it up well enough. I all ready have drills and taps for the setup, would need a block and hoses. figure it would clear the throttle body height, or use a blower type elbow to get the clearance height and have some sort of intake in the front of it.
Has anyone tried putting their intake temp sensor below the blower as most plate setups like bds are always above. Is that just for ease of installation.
Out of curiosity what makes the injector bit different than using a standard bit and then chamfering the edge.

Re: Boost and efi
I have never used those adapters. In my mind they would turn your injector spray pattern into a stream of fuel. They don't need to be angled so I don't know why you couldn't do it in a drill press.
Regarding the drill bit, this just allows you to do everything in one step. You can drill/machine the hole with individually with 3 steps but that suddenly becomes more complex for the home shop. If you do a little googling you can find the injector dimension. I have found them on Yellow Bullet before. Some people will drill the main hole to 0.500 then finish it with a 17/32 reamer (0.531"). The injector range I have read is 0.525-0.531. The 0.531 is the most common number I have seen with only one person liking it a little tighter at 0.525. I have read others just use a 17/32 drill bit and no reamer.
