Tire Recomendations....
I need new tires on the Thunderbird. Looking to replace them in the spring.
I am running the Mustang GT Turbine wheels (15x7 I think...). Mostly street driven, hope to get to the track a few times too.
Any suggestions on tires? Should I just use slicks at the track? Any slick size recomendations?
466 Edelbrock Perf RPM heads, cam, intake. Stock C6 with Frank Merkl shift kit. 8.8 with 3.55:1 Trac-Loc.

Hey Bill, Just wondering what all you got in the 466 and what do it do Oh by the way I'm kinda stuck on these Hoosier's QT Pro's. But they ain't gonna be worth a damn on alot of street drivin

Re: Tire Recomendations....
Thanks Northwest, I'll check it out!!
468, I am leaning toward separate street tires.
The engine is:
460 bored .030", decked a bit and line honed.
Stock crank .010/.010
Eagle rods, SP hyper pistons (shoulda went forged!!)
ARP main/head studs
Edelbrock Perf RPM 95cc heads, ex ports cleaned up
Harland Sharp rockers
Eddy Perf RPM cam, straight up roller timing chain
Eddy Perf RPM intake
1" wood spacer blended from four hole to intake's spread bore pattern
750 DP Holley
Hooker Fox swap headers, 2 1/2" duals with X pipe and turbo muffs
I haven't had a chance to work it down the 1/4 yet. I didn't trust the old weather cracked tires!!
Talk is cheap but I'm hoping for low 12's or high 11's.

Re: Tire Recomendations....
Bill,
When i had my 88 T-Bird i used the Mickey Thompson 28X11.5X15" ET Street Tires they fit nice without having to beat the crap out of stuff.I think they sell a Drag Radial that's real close to that size also.I bet a 28X12.5X15" ET Street might fit also but never tryed them on my T-Bird,i might have some pictures of the 28X11.5X15" ET Street tires on my T-Bird i could send you.
Later Mark.

Re: Tire Recomendations....
Thanks Mark, that is a pretty good size tire!! I'm thinking I'll run street tires to get some life out of them and run slicks at the track.
