Re: Fuel Economy
Met Paul Kane this weekend. He made the 5 hour (one way) trip up to my place and hand delivered the worked 370 heads and factory iron intake. Nice to meet you Paul and hope to see you again at some point! Thank you very much for the deal and delivery.
I'm going to take the heads in to my machinest and have them cleaned and vacuum checked and maybe a new set of valve stem seals.
Have decided to go with the camshaft that Randy shared.
Randy you have a PM.

Okay, so I got Pauls heads all checked out and ready to install, received the custom cam from Randy, bought the lifters and all gaskets to complete the job then found this.

Looks like it's time to machine up another block.
About 6 hours elapsed between running and pulling the heads. That shouldn't be there.

Or simply have a sleeve installed into that block.
Re: Fuel Economy
10.9 mpg on the highway driving like I had an egg under the throttle on a long cruise. Low compression, no vacuum advance, and Holley 1000 hp killed mpg I suppose.
Only time I ever checked it. I now have a 750 on it and vacuum advance and I think it gets better but never checked it.
I have only driven it an average of 55 miles a year the last 5 years (not because of mileage though). Might be time to sell it.
