Valve sizes C-460
With C-460 heads and a 2.4500 intake valve what would be the largest exhaust valve that will fit? Looking over the engine I had put together and the front pass side head is stamped 2.4500 and 2.100. Will a 2.100 exhaust valve fit?
Thanks,
Sheldon G

I don't think so; not with that intake valve diameter.
Re: Valve sizes C-460
As Lem said the 2.100" is the nominal intended installed height with those heads. The four pages of Ford literature that comes with those heads new, says that 1.900" exhaust valves can be used. In the beginning we did put 1.900" valves in them, but learned early on that the valves were so close on the seats, that it created problems where you were actually cutting an intake seat angle on the exhaust seat material where the seats intersected, and it was too sharp with no top angle. By downsizing to a 1.880" exhaust valve things got a lot better in that regards. If you cant get enough flow out of a C-460 exhaust port with a 1.880" exhaust valve,,, you've got other problems.
