Holley 750 jet sizes ?
whats a good starting point for a mild build 460, build specs below ! i have tried the stock jetting of 72-80 and it felt way lean, but i have been up to 80-90 and have 76-84 in it right now and it just doesn't feel right when the 4bbl comes in, like it needs more fuel. plugs look a little sooty but thats after idling a little. when revving it i haven't seen any black come out of it . i haven't ran it wide open and pulled a plug yet either !

Re: Holley 750 jet sizes ?
When you say "mild" what do you mean? Can you give some specs?
A 750cfm seems awfully small to me for a 460ci that's in anything looking to go quick. Maybe in a truck/towing application or a motor home.
What's the rest of the fuel system like?

Re: Holley 750 jet sizes ?
I think your combo looks pretty solid. Everything looks to be decently matched. I am wary of the 3/8th fuel line and the 750cfm carb. I think both should be a little bit bigger. 1/2" aluminum line is pretty cheap and would be a good idea to be sure the engine is fed enough fuel volume when it demands it. The blue pump will suffice but if you build more hp in there later, upgrade that as well.
I'd think that 750 would be jetted in the low to mid 80's on the primary side with a power valve and in the low to mid 90's on the secondary but this is just my gut feeling. I've honestly never run that size carb on that many cubes in a go-fast application. If its all you have to work with I get it. If the 3/8ths fuel line is hurting it upstairs in the rpm's on a pass you won't get a good feel for jetting changes however. I'd swap that out first if it were my ride.
