Fuel filters before my pump ok?
Running my fuel lines, -8an black braided nylon line, 40 micron just after tank than thinking a 10 micron up front before I go to a Edelbrock machanical pump than 8an to carb. 547 street motor. Over thinking it or run it? Thanks

I've never seen any adverse affect from running a filter in front of my pumps. never tried 2 filters. may be a little overkill.

a 10 micron filter on the suction side of any fuel pump seems like a bad idea to me.

Your right I think I was thinking of electric pump. Any suggestions on what to use?

Anything more than a simple screen type filter is to much restriction on the inlet side.

A Magnafuel twin stack Prostar 500 pump uses a 70 micron on the inlet , then specify 25 micron before the reg

Greg I decided to just run a machanical pump. Stock tank Robb mc sending unit, half inch line and pro system 1000cfm. Looks like just get a 100 micron and s screen filter up by carb from what I gather here. Thanks

I was just using that as a guide as an example. I followed their setup and all works sweet. The same would apply to mech pump IMO.

I run a mechanical pump with a filter between the tank and the pump. However, I filter the fuel from the drum to the jug, and then the jug to the tank. If you're still getting debris, you're having other issues.
