not sure where to post this but looking to get an idea of what a set of A429 cj heads are worth, should be planned,
and also what would a set of p51 heads be worth? both heads set up for roller cam, triple springs. moving on and not gonna need the cj heads for sure the p51s are possibly going up as well just trying to get an idea

pretty sure i lost the converter so im not giving up completely on the p51s
car just seem not to run and pull like it should or was, only thing that changed in the combo was the pistons, and the heads and pushrods ( cj A429s i ran a je piston, and when the p51s i went to a diamond racing piston) the car used to pullhard but seem to pull its best from the 660' on or back half of the track,
with the 5 runs i have on the p51s i dont get the pull feeling and its spinning more rpms but slowed down,
i also went from running 32* of timing to 28* as suggested with the p51s, idk if maybe the timing has something to do with it, i pulled the motor apart, cam still looks great and new, lifters are good, pushrods are straight nothing seems to be binding, even pulled the meatball out checked gears and axles which were good and put new rear slicks on it, it was getting faster every pass in the 5 i made but thee car has slowed a good 2 tenths.
so gonna try the new converter in the spring and really hope that was my issue, but im ready to start over and fresh with everything

I've seen them for as little as $650 (stock , used needing freshening) to the set I bought a while back ( fresh , ported , surfaced , ti retainers)for $1200. What are you going to ask?

i got a new one bought it as a christmas present for myself, just waiting for the weather to break

Same camshaft that was used with the A429 heads?
With the much, much better mid lift flow of the P51 heads the camshaft requirement will be very different than with the A429 head - in my opinion.

Good luck with the new converter too!

Just hold off on selling the P-51 heads. I really think it's your converter. I've seen times when newly gained power just fried the old converter.

Logic says that if you're turning higher RPM, but the ET has slowed 2 tenths, the heads can't be to blame - something is getting looser/failing (converter?) than it was. Just wait until you try the new converter.
