Kasse SR71
Took the T-Bird out yesterday to tnt at a local track. New 572 with Kaase SR 71 heads, ran 5.27 at 130mph first pass off the trailer. Made three other conservative passes 25 degree timing, 3500 launch and shifted at 6400. Second pass car spun violently upon transbrake release which made it shift and ran all the way in high gear 5.39 at 128. The next two passes it went 5.29 at 128 spinning the tires the whole way down. These heads are the real deal rite out the box! On a good prepped track this thing will run.

Re: Kasse SR71
I had a similar engine, same compression, similar cam, fully ported "race" style heads with ti valves that on its best run was a tenth slower then this set up off the trailer. If I had to replicate my old slower engine, the top end would cost me double what I spent on the SR-71 set up. I know that there are race style heads out there and some good head porters that can out perform the SR-71 stuff but for a out of the box head the price and the performance in MY OPPINION can't be beat. I hope these heads make Mr. Kaase plenty of money and he can keep these things on the shelf for anyone who wants a great head that can be used truly "out of the box".

14.8, 4.88. Less compression and less duration on the cam then the a-headed engine but same rear gear, converter, injection setup etc. Same car different engine.

Re: Kasse SR71
I just installed a Rons Terminator 2 twin blade throttle body, in place of the 4.1" single blade throttle body giving it about 450 cfm more throttle body. I have yet to speak to anyone who has changed from a single blade 4.100 toilet to a twin blade 2.4 to see if any gains took place. The engine wanted more than a 0-1/2 pump so I upgraded to a -1 pump before I changed the throttle body. If it can ever stop raining out hear I may be able to find out.

The -1 pump is a good idea if you're running 1/4 mile. Make sure you have a bypass set around 100 psi. Your results may vary. 1/8 mile stuff hardly ever sees a full pull.snuff98 wrote:I just installed a Rons Terminator 2 twin blade throttle body, in place of the 4.1" single blade throttle body giving it about 450 cfm more throttle body. -1 pump seems to be a great match for the engine combo, once tuned it liked a 90 pill with 37 nozzles with the twin blade throttle body. With the 0-1/2 pump I had to run 39 nozzles and never could get the engine rich enough to not gain 25+ degrees of coolant temp after the stripe even with the fan and water pump on. From a 76 pill all the way down to a 60 pill egt and coolant temp would not change much. and when the air got better and cooler the car slowed down. Tnt this past weekend and ran 5.23 at 131 mph. 116 sixty foot with big long wheelies and the car getting out of shape. Next time out I will lower the wheelie bars and do a little suspension tuning and maybe get the old buzzard in the teens.
