69 429 heads swap on 86 460
So I have an 86 F350 with a stock 460. The exhaust bolts are all rounded off and rotted and can not be removed. I have a set of fresh C9VE heads off a 69 429 thunderjet that I just had the exhaust ported and valve guides replaced. Already had hardened valve seats installed. My plan is to just use the stock rocker arms and pushrods off the 69 429 that would have gone along with these heads. Are there any issues with using these stock valve train parts with the cam in the 86 460? I also plan to change the timing chain to straight up. Thanks.

Perfect that’s the goal. With these roughly 75cc heads and a .040” head gasket any thoughts on what the cr will be? Wondering if I can still run 87 or if I’ll have to go to higher octane.

23cc .030" in the hole 75cc comes to 9.14/1 if that's what you have for your setup. On the gas maybe/probably OK on the 87.
Double check your lifter preload just because.
