Weiand tunnel ram
Anyone have any suggestions on porting the
weiand tunnel ram to work on sr71 heads. I have tried to look up the pn on the intake but have no luck to make sure it is for scj style heads. The runner exit seams very small and not the shape of the intake gasket but lines up well with the ports. The roof of the exit of the runner has plenty of material needed to be removed to get a gasket match. This intake does have a dual dominator top. I am planning to run dual Ron's toilets. I currently have a completely stock tfs mafia with a twin blade terminator on the motor now.

Is it a #1993? You can see an old one below ported to CJ.

What is the number on the top? Just curious as it looks like Weiand may have made two with the same part number over the years with a different plenum volume.

I think they only made one for stock size 460 runners. They require a lot of porting for CJ .

Re: Weiand tunnel ram
Here is one that has been heavly worked on the runners and plenums.
http://www.bpeheads.com/tunnelram.htm
Below is the other top that has a #1990 part number with what appears to be a bigger plenum. It is for a 429 Boss apparently and has 4150 flanges. If you compare it to the one in my first link you can see the difference between the #1990 converted to Dominator flange mounted on the #1993 460 base.
https://www.429-460.com/t23730-weiand-boss-429-dual-quad-tunnel-ram-top
Like Cool said I have only seen then for standard port stock for the 460.
And the 3 Piece Dominator Top.

I believe #1915 is the standard 4150 Top now.

Nice. I don't see the spacers listed anymore but, they should not be that hard to make if you wanted to experiment with them. Looks like they weld up the back side of the runners so they can be opened up further from the flange.
Might give Charlie a call for some pointers if he does not chime in.

Re: Weiand tunnel ram
We have a Weiand 2-piece clamshell tunnel ram top (ie, from a 3-piece tunnel ram) if anyone wants to buy it--please call.
The Weiand tunnel ram definitely benefits from enlarging the runners to SCJ port exit, and also benefits from reworking the runner entries at the top. We have an upper runner mod we do which is near-identical to the BPE mod but less extensive in its execution. After doing a few of them with very worthwhile results, I still feel that both our mod and BPEs mod leave more to be desired at the runner entries, especially if you don't want the T/R to be a choke point for the SR71 heads. Given the limited availability of cast T/Rs, the mods are worthwhile and beneficial.

Re: Weiand tunnel ram
I use 4 different temp sensitive paints on each header primary about 1 inch out the head to give me an idea of egt of each cylinder. With the tfs single intake the four inside cylinders run hotter then the outer four. Enough to see the difference on the temp paint. I now run #37 nozzles on the outer four cylinders and #38 nozzles on the inner four and seemed to balance it out a little better with a little performance gain. Now thinking that the heads flow well enough that the single dummy intake may be holding the combo back a little.

It is almost a waste of time because it is entirely too small for that large head.
If ya gotta use it then just "port match" it.

If you wanted to go sheet metal maybe you could get a deal on this one. Just passing it on.

He has 2 or more different intakes in the add. The 11.625 is for the Chevy. The Ford deck height is not mentioned, would "assume" it's 10.3"?
I doubt you pick up much if any over the Mafia with that Weiand.
