Factory heads Empty Factory heads

Did the 385 series and the 351M and 400M share identical blocks and heads?

First paragraph of page 5

Im serious about this. I do not believe the article. Hell the guy says this about a 351 and I quote

These two ribs (arrows) at the back near the distributor clearly distinguish this as a 351 Windsor.

351M, 351C and 400 were classified by Ford as the 335 series engine. Different bore spacing than 385. 335 and W series engines shared same bore spacing, and the heads from both can be interchanged with some mods depending on which switch is desired. Cool

No i just think the way its written is confusing you. They are meaning the 429 and 460 share identical blocks, and the 351M and 400 share identical blocks. Not all of them sharing an Identical block.

the distributer thing, well........lets hope that was a serious brain fart, or editting problem.

The article is poorly written, thats all. No way in a million years will cleveland heads bolt to a 429/460 block.

They are not saying they are the same. read it again. They are saying the 429/460 share the same block and the same w/351m/400. Easily misread.

I can't even count the number of times a writer has screwed with the real words they are quoting and mess it all up.
