&%#@ Motor anyways (Long)
Hey all.
Well the engine has been performing good for 1 1/2 years now. It's a 521 with DOVE heads. So here is my story!
A couple of months ago I broke the torque converter. My budget wasn't ready for a new converter but I (dug deep) to get one. A return trip to the track and the car started to missfire. If you let the car cool, it would start and run good. Seemed electrical. I did put a timing light on it ... and it was firing past the degree marks on the balancer when it messed up. But like I mentioned let cool and it would run normal.
I gave up at the track and went home. I ordered a New MSD-6 AL-2 box and installed it. Fried up the car and it ran for 20 minutes in the driveway at the delight of my neighbors.
A return to the track: On the first real pass the track proved to be to slippery for traction. The car was like a squirl. I pitted did some shock adjustments and returnd to the staging lanes.
A second pass the engine sounded like it was on the rev limiter? I thought maybe I have the adjustment on the new box set too low.
Third pass.. not good.. I had turned up the rev limit but this time it still seem like the rev limiter was on.
Well the pin in the cam sheared causing damage to 8 exhaust valves.
The kicker is the valves had .400 above the lock and a biotch to find. Not only did the valves go bad but I found a bad lobe on the cam S*it!
So I have an old school cam something like .622 lift which will work but I wont have any test period before the Pinks ALL Out deal in Sept. I so want to repersent the BBF on the show. Gosh I can't believe all this crap happend in the last few months.
Well thanks for reading.. I needed to talk about it..

I realize that Les is more, but I always hate to hear of a Ford man losing an engine.
Hope you get it back running again, but faster this time....lol.....
