Motor is going on dyno next week want to guess the Hp
My motor is going on dyno next week
510 ci
Edelbrock heads not port just matched to viktor intake
fordged crank from lunati
h beam rods
probe piston
compression at 13.1
electric water pump
vp 113 fuel
davinhci dominator
Kaase K1 solid roller cam
stefs pan with kaase pump
I just want to race again and want it to run great but Im guessing 700-715 Hp

It should certainly make at least that amount if the revs get to 6,500 or more...

Hope you changed All the Valves Out and Got Some Good New Valves? If so, did you go 2.25" intake?
I say she will probably peak at 6,600 Rpm and meet your HP goal.
You going to take the old 466 cam spec.'s to the grave? With around 1.4 more points of compression and a sizable jump in camshaft lift and duration, the top half seems pretty choked up with the Eddy Heads and Victor Intake. The 1050 Dominator fits nice though. That 1" Wilson Spacer would have been nice to try on the dyno with this one. I would bring a few spacers, if you have others.
Glad to see you got it back together.

Yes all new valves in heads have been all gone through and replaced , yeah I know the heads are the deciding factor but I'm index and bracket racing. The old combo went 9.70s and the car has a whole I didn't want to be in the high 8s bottom bottom 9s which if i went p51 heads or sr71s along those lines would have done . I'm hopeful for a 9.50 and I can back it down shift point so it is reliable . That's why I did the 510 vs bigger cubes as just didn't think was needed
I have a few spacers and have one on the motor already that can be tried .
This won't win any hp awards I get it .....I used the top end I had .

Re: Motor is going on dyno next week want to guess the Hp
It will be interesting if the flat spot you said you had down track with the 466 goes away.
Is the 510 a 6.8" rod?
Are you going to use the old torque convertor again to see how it does?
501 to 510 Cubic Inch's and Those Eddie's seems like a pretty sweet spot to be in, at least to me, for a non max effort deal.

Going to send my convertor or for re fresh to BTE and any changes based on hp and were it makes tq . Car before wasn't so much a flat spot to me but it felt it planed out early but interested to see . I have a feeling this motor will make more tq and I'm going to ditchthe 4.10s and go to 3.73 most likely as well

Re: Motor is going on dyno next week want to guess the Hp
I thought by agreeing, "and meet your goal." was 700-715HP.
For some odd reason I think it may even do better then that. 717
I take a stab at the Torque, 50 Foot Pounds Higher then the 466.

Not trying to be a smart ass but You may get more guesses if you provide the cam specs. No one knows what a k1 cam is. Not likely they spend the time to look it up just to give a guess.

Its a kaase K1 cam and my cam card is at machine shop
I believe it's 273-280 @.050 , 109 lobe separation but lift wa .770 I believe or .780
I maybe off on this lift
It is what it is I posted the thread as I don't see much going on here anymore on this forum . My heads are holding it back but I'm just happy to getting back racing

I think 710 is probably a conservative number myself. Its got pretty good compression. And pretty healthy stick. 750+ maybe.
And i know what you mean about the traffic here. I wish it was more too. The facebook groups are full of morons.

Somebody do the math on the torque, I'm tired.

Anyways good deal. Geter in there and Let's see the E/T and MPH and All's Good.

Those Edelbrocks arent so bad after all
Very good numbers you mentioned changing heads I wouldnt think about it any more good work 5points !!Doug Remember I replaced my edelbrocks with AFRs only picked up one tenth .Not bad but it just proved to me the edelbrocks arent that bad .

Re: Motor is going on dyno next week want to guess the Hp
I was thinking lower #s based on it has a 2.190 intake valve still and heads are not ported and my headers on dyno are nothing special used and clearanced for steering shaft hooker 2 inch primary fox swap headers
now my issue I need to figure is my gearing i have a 4.10 and on a 28inch tire . Most likely going to a 3.73 gear but now i'm tempted to go 3.55 but maybe to much . I'm bracket racing so i don't have to be on kill all out but hopefully traction . Went 6800 before through traps at 133-135 mph at 9.70s

That’s an interesting point. If you bolted on a set of AFR 280’s would you see a 50-70 hp jump in HP on this combo?
Good numbers for sure…an over achiever.

My car with me before was 2950 but I'm adding another battery and ditching the alternator so we can say 3k to be safe
I have a brand new rossler powerglide to go in 1.80 straight gear glide
I have 3/4 length front headers from nc speed labs to do front exits . I was sick of my hooker headers clearance and all

Try the 4.10's first and see how they do.
