They all called him "Smitty"
But I just called him Dad.
I wasnt sure where to post something like this so I am just going to put it here.
At 1:35 Pm today, Jan 03, 2010 My Dad , Allen J Smith, passed away at the VA hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was a Korean war vet and a very fine man.
He has been battling ( Non Hodgekins ) Lymphomia for 9 years, he was 79.
The chemo had his immune system so low, he couldnt stand any kind of infection.
He went peacefully. I was with him, his body just couldnt fight pnuemonia any longer, he was too weak.
I hope one day to be half the man he was.
RIP Dad, we all love you.

Sorry to hear this Jerry. The Good Lord has called him home to be in His glory forever. Even though we mourn a loss, it is far better where he is now. If it's alright with Charlie and such, we could say a toast to him at the evening meal before the Tech Seminar. YFIC

Sorry to hear this, Jerry. Sounds like the old man was a hell of a guy, and you're probably more like him than you give yourself credit for.
