How important to torq plate?

How important is it to torq plate a block vs not doing it? Will the cylinders get egg shape like a mod motor?

BBF Block has blind holes so the deck doesn't distort nearly as much however if you have the plate, or your machine shop does, then it doesn't hurt to apply the torque plate.

Key is if you have access to a torque plate.

When I had the machine work done on my A460 Block a good friend loaned me his torque plate, I just had to pay shipping. Thanks again Chris

Thanks Damond, The machine shop dosen't have one for a BBF. I guess we will go ahead and do it without one since it is not a mandatory thing. I figure I am at the nitty gritty of last chance " what if's and what about's". I guess it takes a expensive rotating assembly to look at every corner, and every inch to build the best short block we can do. That and this is my first high compression motor with nitrous. I am out here in this anartic trying to finish up my suspension. People around me look like the are saying "what a dumb a$$". Oh well when this things fires up it will be all worth it.

Speaking of torque plates,
where would one find them to purchase or are they made by a specific shop or person or manufacturer.
