hey ranger guys i need some help
what do you guys do to fit the exhaust down in your rangers when you install a 460. I put a front frame section of a ranger in my 55 f100 and i cant mount the motor because the exhaust wont fit down in the frame. i can squeeze it down in there with out the passenger manifold on the motor but it looks like lots of cutting and plating on the new frame to get the manifold to fit in there. help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there any stock manifolds that i can get down in there to work. thanks

I had to use fenderwell headers that I built. I took one look at how close the motor was to the frame and knew they had to go out the fenderwells.

When I had Exhaust manifolds on my 84 Ranger, I had to notch the passengerside frame rail. Then I built fenderwell headers for it.

i might take you up on that pipe bending for now. i will work on it tomorrow night and notch the frame and re-plate the frame where i have to do the cutting for now. the passenger side flare out toward the back, if it tucked in like the driver side it would fit just fine, oh well thats what makes it custom right. nothing a little time and a cut-off wheel wont take care of. Thanks Rick

If it is a cruiser, you might think hard about just making a set of tri-y's or a set of log headers. They would be easier than full 4 tube headers to build.

I'm building it just as a rat rod for the summer, to get out in and burn a little rubber and maybe out run the wife in her stang. probably some thing functional for now and bigger and better later. thanks for the info
