steering wheel jerking violently in 05 f-150 with dana 60 conversion. anyone ever seen this

my cousin had a set of dana 60 rearends put into his 2005 f-150, they took out the rack and pinion and installed a steering box from a 92 ford van, they put on a steering pump from a 2005 f-250 and they are having trouble. apparantly while on the hoist running it is fine, but when it is set on the ground, the wheel jerks around violently to the point that they cant drive it, anyone ever seen anything like this, thanks, kyle

Toe out can make one almost impossible to drive. What about the track bar/tie rod relationship? I have a 4x4 and I have made my own mounts for the track bar to get it as close to level as I could to minimize bump steer.

i think the steering wheel is jerking while the truck is just idling in park.

Ok. That should be the steering box. I can't see how it could be anything else.

the 60 is out of a 98 f-350, so should be balljoint.tires are 37" procomps on 20" rims i believe.

that sounds like the steering box to me to or wrong powersteering pump

Shot in the dark here, do they have the hoses running to
the 'in' and 'out' on the steering box turned around?

also one of my thoughts. the truck is 2 hrs away and i dont have time to look at it. but i will tell him to ask about this. it is an offroad shop that has done this swap many times. so i would think they would have already thought to check this out. so i am leaning towards the psp.

i failed to mention that it also did this with the stock pump on the 05 f-150, so that is why they tried the f-250 pump, thought maybe the pump wasnt stong enough.
