Finally made it!!!!
My name is Jim Plimpton and I have the '88 Thunderbird that won the 2008 Hot Rod Magazine "Pump Gas Drags".
Most everyone knows me as "Dr. Ford" as that is my Wisconsin plate on my "street car". We are preparing for Georgia Feb. 26 & 27th, and plan on giving the "True Blue" something to cheer about. Oh, and of course, it has a 582" A headed aluminum Ford that made 2300 Flywheel HP before we stepped it up. We plan on being in the running for the $20K and hope we can make you guys proud. RTCTTFMF'rs!!!!

Re: Finally made it!!!!
Thanks for the warm welcome!
I'll post pics Monday of my junk.
TravisRice that avatar rocks!!!!!
I ran True 10.5s on the car- didn't like the dirty air coming off the car into the 'chute over 180MPH during shutdown and I changed lanes a few times over 190MPH. With the drag radials and power management this car drives beautiful. I will say that both the drag radials AND the TT5's will be going to Georgia with us since it is 1/8th mile.
Mark Miller-Yes that is the car. It had belonged to a good friend of mine and I ended up with it. It was a nitrous car then and went 9.40s on nuts and 8.70s on a 150 shot. I knew the car in and out already from always helping him run the car, work on it, and my shop painted it years ago.
richter69 thanks for the reply. I have had the nickname "Dr. Ford" for years, but someone had it already. My car has gone fastest on drag radials, so there is meaning behind the screen name. Ask Bruno (thanks again for the help!!) about my difficulties signing up. Besides, have you seen Puddin'?! I want to be on her good side!!

Jim,
Thanks for replying to my question,i wish i would have had the money to buy it when it was for sale in Columbus.I'm sure it was probably well worth what your friend was asking for it back then,Later Mark.
