Re: fiberglass body parts
Hey, Larry:
I'm not absolutely positive, but I think they are a manufacturer / dealer direct operation. But to be sure, contact them (352) 468-2203 and see what they say. I wish they made body panels for a 50 Ford - when I spoke to them about the availability, they said "no, we only make panels for POPULAR cars"!

Larry,
According to Kim Smiley, (Maverick) U.S. Body Source has a branch in Minnesota also. Which would obviously be closer of course. He bought his Maverick front end there.

Re: fiberglass body parts
Nice stuff,
But I bet dragging it back over the border would be a real pain, especially with tarrifs and B.S. since NAFTA.
I would bring it back through Port Huron. Maybe less hassle than Detroit.
Thanks for the link Larry/

Re: fiberglass body parts
Larry there is usually depots in the US border towns that do this for a living.
I know there is one in Sault Ste Marie michigan. You pay a pretty small fee (so long as you get there soon after it arives at the depot) and pick up your stuff yourself. Just usually have to give your name and the depot's address.
YOu pay ONLY tax, AS long as the stuff is made in the USA.
I've done this lots of times over the past few years. That was the deal, but i have not bought anything this way in a year or so.

Re: fiberglass body parts
I had read about one in Port Huron too. Couldn't find any info on it. The company I wanted to deal with won't deal with Canada at all. I did get some of what I wanted ( the hood only ) here close by. I can pick it up so no shipping. This kept the cost comparable. I still may go with the complete glass front end and that is available only in the USA. The doors are available here too.
I wanted to lower the weight as much as possible before I update the cage and pull the 393 for the 545/p51 that is sitting assembled in my garage. Right now the 'stang is 2600 with me in it.

Re: fiberglass body parts
Larry, if you know of any truck drivers, they could pick your parts up.
When we weere driving, we picked up about $500 at Summit in GA and with the two of us in the truck, we were allowed $600, so they said "Thank you, carry on!" No duty on car parts.
