Big ice storm on the way............

Just serviced the generator, and got 45 gals of gas for it, so I'll be able to power the heat in the house along with the computer and the wii ................

07 was real bad, some lost power for weeks even up in okc. We lost ours for like an hour...............go figure.

Our old hose had a lot of overhanging trees over the powerlines, all the lines are buried here and the trees should not bother anything if they do.

Got the chainsaw serviced up just in case............

Underground stuff is better. I never could figger why they hang it all up on the poles, just to get ripped down by ice, trees, big winds and flying combines (like in Twister!!).

I like to sit around and play "100 things wrong with the movie twister" when I watch it.......lol

Our power lines are strung over the street but go underground to the house and shop, i had a tree limb over the one to the house when we moved in but promptly had it cut down......glad I did. We will get a good bit of sleet and snow with this system along with wind. Could get some dry slotting...............ju7st have to see what happens.

Yep, just got done looking at a Nat'l Weather Service forecast. Doesn't look good for you. They're showing Oklahoma in the bullseye. Been through it myself up here in NW Kansas. Hang in there, spring and race season is on the way!

My 69 is alll ready to go..............if the power stays on looks like I'll have a 3 day weekend to work on the other car....crank up the heat and the radio and get at it!!!!!!!


I bet generator sales are on the increase as we speak.

Sad deal is as much as they have been warning people of this deal some fool will still get his ass killed by this storm from his own stupidity.............no reason for that.........I guess its just "natural selection".

i think Dan got hit pretty good last year w/ the frozen stuff ..... tree went threw the race trailer ....no power for weeks ..i guess his mullet kept him warm

true that, we have a bunch of nut huging tree huggers around here that wont cut the trees from around their houses but rely on the insurance companys to fix everything when a tree takes down part of the house.the nut hugger at work his insurance company told him to find a nother carrier.now he is looking at paying 2 times as mutch as he was because of his passed history.a quote from a movie "Dumb is as Dumb does"

When a hurricane comes to Louisiana everyone gets together and has a hurricane party. I guess that is why they are voted the happiest state.

There talking about the possibility of some bad weather out here this weekend too. When it comes through will change if we get ice snow or rain.

We plan on going sledding out by the shop Saturday.

the Main problem is the weather men around this area get payed big bucks for Lieing their A$$es off hell if they hit the weather 50% of the time they are doing good....

At work right now, its raining like hell and ice is forming on exposed surfaces, 1 or 2 degree diff at the upper levels will play a role in how bad it gets. Got my trailer positioned and generator ready, it was 65 yesterday so the roads should be good for a bit.

roads are ok, a good 1/4" or better ice on the trees and power lines already...they are calling for up to 1 1/2"..................gonna be devastating around here.

We got a big snow storm going on here, I can't see across the street. Supposed to be about 8" in the next few hours, then more over night and more tomorrow.

The snow is better than the ice tho....
