Re: fe solid roller lifters in a 460
It seems to me that I've read somewhere that even thought the FE roller lifters will fit in a 429 / 460 block, the lifter bore spacing is different. This causes a bind in the alignment bars on the lifters @ full lift resulting in $$$$$ breakage. Someone else who has more / better info will surely chime in. I hope I was helpful.

The lifters will PHYSICALLY interchange however, the FE lifters hane NO oil going through them as the FE valve train is oiled through the rocker shafts; NOT the pushrods.
Some FE's use the 385 lifters as that is not a problem.
