That is a work of art! More engine details possibly?

Sure, it's Tony Bischoff's motor he ran in his cougar in ADRL (someone else bought the cougar and they needed a bigger power plant to compete) with 2 less stages of nitrous and a slightly smaller cam. It's a 645 inch, C&C motorsports block, thor gen 1 heads, 2 pro systems dominators, Comp Cam, star vaccum pump, barnes oil pump, etc. 3 stages of speed tech nitrous.
Bischoff builds a heck of a motor and he is also a super nice guy.
The engine dynoed 1295 HP @ 7400 and 960 lb-ft or torque @ 5600

I thought it looked familiar, same engine he had in the NMRA when we ran Pro 5.0. That is a stout piece. Thanks for sharing.

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
Thanks guys,
The last of the stuff that needs mounted to the chassis is here. There is one more relay for the nitrous system, the fuel log, and the rear exit cable shifter(the one in the pics is front exit and won't work). The convertor showed up from neil chance too. we are really coming to the home stretch here. We are taking this stuff up to the chassis shop thursday and they will hopefully be ready to send it to powder coat by early next week.
I don't know if i've mentioned that it's being built at advanced chassis, but if i haven't i should have. they have been great. top notch work and very friendly and easy to deal with. www.advancedchassisusa.net they are located in north west ohio.

Well, it's getting closer, i think we are still about a week away from powder coat at least. they have to re-work the motor plate a little bit, a couple little brackets to do, the fire and nitrous bottle mounts, and they have alot of welding to do once the body comes back off. the interior looks to be about 70 % done or so.
And here is what everyone is actually waiting for

Sharp piece indeed. Did you decide on a color or paint scheme yet ?

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
The current plan is to paint it factory 2010 GT500 colors. it'll be dark blue with dark silver stripes. I don't know the names of the colors or anything though. there may be some ghost flames or something thrown in, but we want to keep it fairly simple.

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
Very nice looking ride Tony Bischoff ran in the 6.40's or 6.50's with that engine didn't he?The dark blue color on the 2010 Mustangs and Shelbys is Kona Blue the stripes could be either Sterling Grey or Brilliant Silver.

i know that he ran some 6.50's with it and i think he got into the 6.40s, but i'm not sure. we are going to be running alot less nitrous through it though. i'll be very excited if it goes 7.20s on motor and if we can get it down the track without hurting anything on the nitrous i'll be very excited.

You guys are flying with the build. Feel free to stop by my garage and knock out some work on mine if you like!
Can't wait to see it all finished. Should look sharp in the blue with stripes. Think it'll be ready in time for the Bash? If so, you going to bring it out there?

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
We might try to bring it down to the bash, we'll have to see how the schedule looks(when is the bash this year, BTW?) our dead line right now is to have enough hits on the chassis by second week in july to be able to do my licensing runs at norwalk that week and hopefully be able to hang around for the fords at the summit. The only thing that might keep me from that would be the birth of my first child(he is due june 29th). the wife already OKed it, but she seems to think i won't want to leave for that long(it's less than 3 hours from out house). it might be nice to get away from baby noise and get closer to car noise, but we'll see.

Sweet!
That thing is beautiful. Definitely some nice craftsmanship going on there. I like the color choice too. That's my favorite Shelby combination. The bash is scheduled for May 21st and 22. Hope to see it there.

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
Wow, i didn't realize the bash was so close. i don't know why, but i was thinking it was in the late summer or early fall. i doubt it'll be ready by then. that is right around when we plan to have it finished, but i don't think we'll be ready to make any long trips until we get things sorted out.

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
Well, this is what happens when you go to the chassis shop too often. they should have it ready to go to powder coat by the monday after next, but it doesn't look alot different than the last time. The current schedule we are guessing to be: Car goes to powder 3/22, car gets back from powder 3/25, car is re-assembled 4/2, car leaves for wiring 4/5, car gets back from wiring 4/12, car goes to body shop 4/12, car is painted and ready to come back 4/26. we are actually expecting the car to be home with us by the first week of may sometime...we hope. here are the pics, but like i said it looks mostly the same.

Wow it's moving right along damn quick, it will be ready in no time.
Are you guys going to be using a 34.5", or a 36" slick?

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
i didn't even know they made them in 36". The engine builder said he thought it would like a 33.5" tire so it wouldn't hook too much, but i think we are leaning toward the 34.5" just for the extra traction for when the nitrous is on as long as it'll fit.
Thanks for all the compliments guys. It may seem like it coming together really fast to you guys, but over here it's been the longest 3 months of my life.

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
Maybe it's the angle of the pic's but it had me kinda thinking you might have had room for a 36" T/F tire if you decided to try P/M in the future.86bigblockbird wrote:i didn't even know they made them in 36"
If it's a choice between 33.5 & 34.5, it might like the 33.5's better on straight motor, but the 34.5's should last a lot more passes.
