Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
Well, it's still coming along. the body is on a jig at the paint shop working on prime. the chassis i completely wire other than the racepak. by wednesday of this week we hope to have it back to the chassis shop for a few more little things here and there(mill the mid plate so the starter will fit, put the converter in, start on the plumbing for water and fuel lines, etc) we are still hoping to have it home by the 3rd week in may. here are just a few more pictures.

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
so far it's great. there were a few problems... when we first got it we intended to only run 2 stages of N2O and ordered accordingly. then we ended up with 3 stages and got another stage to wire in which will activate as soon as the transbrake releases. Gil at speedwire is great to work with, he sent me new stickers to put on the relabled the stuff that was origionallly stage 1 and 2 to stage 2 and 3. the problem came in when the guy wiring it forgot to put the new stickers on to relable the stages. this caused alot of confusion for him because the wiring diagram didn't match the circit board. i'll let you know more once we get the car running, but the chassis guy and the guy doing the wiring both raved about how nice it is and once we got the stickers labled properly everything went very smoothly.

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
i hope that last post wasn't too long winded. the short of it is the only problem so far has been confusion between me and the wiring guy. once we got that figured out everything went smoothly. we won't be running it for at least another 2 weeks, but once we do i'll have a full report.

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
Well, it's been a couple weeks i think since my last update and quite a bit has gone on. as of a week and a half ago the chassis was scheduled to be finished friday the 14 and the body was going to be finished at paint or at least very close. well, the chassis probably would have been done by then, but the paint guy started dragging his feet. the day it was supposed to be all painted and ready for airbrushing we took an emblem up for him to reference and there was no paint on the car yet and he told us he was shooting for it to be done by the 1st of june. well, thankful the chassis shop owner gave him and earful(the chassis shop is who recommended him) and we are very much hoping to have the car complete and home by may 29th.
While waiting for the body shop the chassis guys have been great and have started doing extra things that we were going to have to do ourselves once we got the car home. it's completly plumbed other than the nitrous(we'll worry about that once we have the car sorted out and running good), they took the trans out for us twice(once to put the conveter in and once to replace the stock imput shaft), etc.
i do have some pictures to add. the first part if from right when they go it back after wiring and the rest are from today. there are quite a few.
This is the sling they made for us to get the trans in and out easily(they will also be selling them on their website and racing junk soon)

Apparently the chassis guy really got the guy from the paint shop moving. the car IS completely primed and is getting color tomorrow. they had the body at the chassis shop today to make sure the body still fit on the chassis after the body work and prime. they snapped a few pictures while they were at it.

Looks awsome! Got to ask if you thought about doing a wrap instead of air brush? I know you had to have the body shop do the intial fit and finish of the body. Just wondering

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
We thought about a wrap, but we weren't getting crazy with the paint job and none of the wraps i've seen have the same gloss as paint. The good news is the car is blue and will hopefully be ready to pick up this saturday or monday(i couldn't believe they were working memorial day)

Is it normal to get a car built this fast? Who are you using?
Do they come with their own "men in black"?

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
I think they are pretty quick. They are a couple of weeks behind what they told us in the beginning, but we kinda knew it would be a little longer than they said. www.advancedchassisusa.net is the chassis shop doing the work. they can and have built about anything you can think of. while we've been there during the course of out build they've done dragsters, altereds, roadsters, drag radial cars, they did honda racings comp eliminator car(twin turbo v-6, awesome), street rods, super gas cars, etc. The owner Ken is a perfectionist. He pointed out imperfections in the coating that i wouldn't have noticed and had the coating re-done cause he wouldn't let it leave his shop like that. Just a great group. family owned shop, friendly and down to earth.
and we can't wait till saturday!

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
I feel like i'm really becoming a post whore
Well, We may or may not be pushed back yet another day. The plan was to pick it up saturday, but we may not be able to. it won't be ready until afternoon at the earliest. Dad has to be some where at 3 so he would need to leave the shop by 1 at the very latest(especially towing the trailer. We'll either drive up seperate and he'll leave when he needs to and i'll stay and bring the car or pick it up sunday. We just got another Email from Ken and looks like the painter is still draggin'. They are expecting the hood scoop, door handles, spill plates, etc. to arrive tomorrow(we hope) along with the front end(but that may not be until saturday).
It's practically a car now.

Re: 2010 TS mustang in the works
Hopefully this will be the last round of pics before we are actually there picking it up. the front end, hood scoop, and the remaining parts of the wing were cleared early today and are being delivered saturday at noonish after a quick wet sand and buff. then we are going to pick it up sunday after noon.
