i.m in need of a cam for my truck motor

30 over dive block
stock crank
stock rods w/bolts
kb137 pistons
d3ve heads pedestal rockers
performer intake


1987 ford f150 with 3.55 gears

this is going to be my tow / play vehicle

I personally like the CompCams X4262H grind; there are several which will work well.

It would be best to have better valve springs for high performance but, that is not necessary for that cam to be used.

I used the comp 924-16 springs but I think that cam calls for 926-16 springs. I also bought 7* retainers and locks.

one more newbie question. will a cam of 230 @ o.50 be ok someone on the site has offered it to me. it's a comcams 274 extreme energy

It would run but at that point i would deffonately be swaping valve springs and retainers. At the very least springs for the sake of your valves.
