Hookers vs D&D
I have used two sets of Hookers Comps on the same '87 Mustang and they fit just fine except on the drivers side at the collector when connecting exhuast pipe. That side is a little high but stock K-member fit ok. I am using the Hooker 2" tubes and their motor mounts.

Re: hooker-vs-D-D headers
you can remedy that by having flanges welded on and then having them coated! I know its more money!

You don't really need a flange to hook a pipe up I'm gonna get a 3.5" pipe with a bell slide it over the header and put a clamp on it well atleast I hope that will work lol

Re: hooker-vs-D-D headers
A band type clamp would work best, they seal real good and they don't deform the pipe like a U bolt type clamp does. Truck shops have em.

All I use is the stainless steel ban clamps. A little more money but well worth the money IMO. Just put an impact gun to the bolts until the two ends are seated. It's fun watching the band conform to the pipe instead of crushing the pipe. No leaks either!
The new exhaust system I am building is going to use V-bands.

Re: hooker-vs-D-D headers
I am all about being able to work on something easily!! If I have to remove the transmission or converter I am already going to be pissed. So why piss my self off further messing with exhaust! I just hope the v-bands seal nice and tight.

Re: hooker-vs-D-D headers
They are two steel or aluminum flanges that use a circular style v-band clamp that holds the two flanges tight togather. You see them mainly used on turbo piping, cold and hot side.
