Brandon's 501 I built with ported scj's and basically the same cam made 740 hp and 660 tq.

what would you build scj,s or street heats ?

out of the box the streets, if you gonna port then the SCJ, if you can find a deal on a set then which ever ones you find.

Unported go with the SCJ's IMO

Max ported theirs not a bunch of difference between the two in my book. It seems the streets will make a bit more torque and the SCJ's will make a bit more hp.

If I were starting new and wanted a good running conventional headed deal, I would get the P-51's .

I have seen three different 557 flat top solid roller engines make 900 hp. At 6900 rpm, with out of the box heads with a cartridge roll clean up in the bowls.

You can almost be drunk and make 850 with them.

If your talking un ported and buget deal, go with the SCJ's Lem sales. And you can step to the P-51's later with no other changes.

what do the p-51 s cost and what intake goes with them ?

Last I saw they are in the mid $2k ish range complete depending on how you get then set-up, they take the same intake as regular scj / CJ Stuff

They have the same valve placement as the SCJ's but have their own chamber shape and dome configuration if going with a dome piston.

This is my build, but with 521" Ported aluminum SCJ's,same cam and a tick less compression. so I will be happy with those numbers

well thought i had the c-heads sold , guy just backed out -so ill be waiting until they are gone

Good luck on your new build FYI a 4.39 bore and 4.3 stroke is 520.68 ci.That seems like a good combination something i would like to build down the road.
