Will NBC be surprised??*

Here's your chance to let the media know where the people stand on our faith in God, as a nation.

NBC is presently taking a poll to see if Americans want the words "In God We Trust" to be removed from the American currency.

Please send this to every person you know so they can vote on this important subject.

Please do it right away, before NBC takes this off their web page. Poll is still open so you can vote:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10103521/

I'll bet this is going to be a surprise to NBC

Should the motto "In God We Trust" be removed from U.S. currency? * 18395210 responses

Yes. It's a violation of the principle of separation of church and state.
11%

No. The motto has historical and patriotic significance and does nothing to establish a state religion.

Some have to have a reason to bitch, all this started long ago, but somehow this adminestration gets all the blame, just like the economy, made no difference who was elected president, this would have happened, all falls back squarely on the last adminestration. Surprised

Just one question, what knowledge would we get from this thread, they have been trying to get the "in god we trust" off the money, since they put it on, don't understand your reasoning, other than start a debate.

now honestly i know most you you are belivers in god
but just think about this
what if there is no god?
i mean there is no hard evadence to prove it
just a book that has been rewritten 100's of times
so if it was the truth it has been lost along time ago
i am not gonna get into a debat of the god issue
cause i have no idea eather way about it
but just cause we want to belive in something dosent make it true

How 'bout some positive proof that God "Does Not" exist? I gurantee, there's more evidence He does exist, than not. Prove me wrong. If you don't believe, then don't. If you do believe then do. Myself, I'd rather live my life believing there is a God and find out there isn't, than to live my life like there is no God, only to find out there is. I know several who don't believe in God. That's their perogitive. I know where I'm going at life's end. Do you? As far as taking "In God We Trust" off of our money, if you think it's no big deal, then it's not only un-American, it's also kicking our Founding Fathers in the face. This country was founded as a Christian Nation. Believe what you want.

Well everyone is allowed an opinion but the whole G thing is the biggest scam before global warming. Now, if you want to believe I think that is awesome. Your right to believe is just the same as my right not to believe and that is what makes this country (and Canada) so great. Now as far as the dollar goes, I think it should stay and I voted that way. I also believe in tradition and if that is what the country was founded on then we need to respect that. If we followed a few more ideas the founders had maybe things wouldn't be so screwed up right now.

I find it funny how people get all worked up over whats printed on their money more than what the original premise of "Separation of Church and State". Look back at European history when countries were actually run more by the church than anything else, the division between the rich and poor was soo obscenely extreme and the rich literally got away with what ever they wanted to do because they were "Holier then thou". Just remember: Be nice to people, don't steel stuff, and don't go sleeping with your neighbors wife/daughter/mom/whatever if you're already hitched, AND BE NICE TO PEOPLE DAMNIT!!!

There were some people that tried proving the Bible wrong, and they could not do it. It was a documentary on TV, I can't remember the name of it right now.
I, myself have questioned why God allows bad things to happen to our loved ones and freinds. Why he allows disasters and wars to happen and kill thousands of innocent people. The answer I get is, it is all part of his plan.
Luck or belief, I am still here on Earth as part of his plan, should I be, no, I have cheated death a couple of times that I can think of, yes, (my own stupidity). Have I been a believer all my life, no. But as Doug said, "I'd rather live my life believing there is a God and find out there isn't, than to live my life like there is no God, only to find out there is."
My wife got me to read the book, "The Shack", after reading it, it has shead a new light on some of my questions. The book explains why God allows things to happen and why, and has given me things to think about.
As far as having "In God We Trust" on our money, it should stay there, if you don't think so and it offends you, then don't use it, and see how that works for you. Then send your money to me and I will give 10% of it to my church and I will keep the rest. Very Happy Well, I probably won't keep it, I'm sure I will give it to Lem, Charlie or Adney and others on here for BBF parts! Laughing

I like having it on there because its traditional. It's not like it hurts anyone or really does anything, it's just traditional. As for the whole God part, alot of people believe in a god, it may not be the same one I think of or you think of but people have got to believe in something or someone. Personally I dont NOT believe in God, after all you can only get run over, electrocuted, shot, stabbed, poisoned, and run over again AND still be alive and just count it all up to coincidence or just being lucky can you?
