Re: Chris Corey MOM pass away.
Thanks guys for all the responses. It really means alot. Since Jan. 3 my life has been an emotional roller coaster. It was a miracle that Momma survived the aneurism much less the surgery. Then I spent a month leaving work to go to Norfolk & sit with Momma & then get home after 8pm to get up at 4am to go back to work. But I don't regret one minute of it. Then we thought she had turned the corner & we brought her back to Ahoskie for rehab on Feb.2. She was admitted back to ICU on Feb. 4 at Roanoke Chowan hospital for a severe unrinary infection. Things were looking better until we got the call at 4am Feb. 6. Momma had a blood clot in her lung. They couldn't treat it because it would cause her to bleed out in her brain from the previous surgery. The strain had also damaged her heart some more(heart attack in 2003) & her kidneys were starting to shut down. After discussing all the options, pros & cons, & praying, we felt the best thing we could do was stop treatment & just make her comfortable. The Hospice people were great to her. She was one strong woman. She lasted 13 days & died the morning of Feb. 19. They say some good comes from something bad. Well I know momma is better off now & I also found out how good of a wife that I have. I have taken her for granted in the past. Meredyth took off work that last week & stayed at the hospital helping take care of Momma. My wife is an RN. She has been the glue that has kept me from losing it during all of this. But enough of my rambling.
Jon, I am truely sorry for your family's loss. You & your family is in our prayers. I don't know what to say other than I do know what you are going through right now. But you know that your grandfather is in alot better place now.
