Hello from an Iowa Truck Puller
Hello. I am Chris and I live in SW Iowa. In 2006 a buddy and
I built a 79 F250 into a 2wd Pulling Truck, called YES DEERE... We pull mostly
in Nebraska with the http://www.nepowerpullers.com but also venture into Iowa, South
Dakota, and MO. The first year was a very mild 460 (cam and intake) and a C6.
In 2007 we purchased a guys backup motor and ran it all year that got us up to
3rd in points. It was at this
time that we switch to a manual transmission and 2 disk slipper clutch. For
2008 we wanted to kick A$$ and so we built a whole new engine (468CID, Diamond
custom domes, Eagle H-Beams w/2000 bolts, Forged crank, Scotty J Maxed DOVE’s,
Victor, QF Carb). Made a few passes on
it at test-n-tune and then at the first official pull I snapped a rod at 304
foot. This shut us down for the season. We took this season off to recover
financially and to learn from our mistakes but already have parts in the works
to create a new monster.
We have a website with some of the old build pictures on it
but it hasn’t been updated much since we haven’t been pulling or working on the
truck. The website is www.yesdeeretruck.com . Also here is a video clip from
the test-n-tune. This is the first pass on the new engine and we didn’t have
the weight right (my buddy is driving).

Thanks guys. My wife threw out that name while we were drinking and it just kind of stuck. We were already going to use the John Deere paint.

Re: Hello from an Iowa Truck Puller
Welcome, do you ever pull at any of the West Central Iowa pulls? If so, I'll look for you at some pulls next year. I don't participate, but, I do like to watch...

Re: Hello from an Iowa Truck Puller
We have a couple of times but it was usually just to support a local pull. They don't have much competition for 2wd's.
