Dish Soap Inside Slicks to Prevent Leaks?????

I'm not sure but I think I read somewhere (maybe here) that you can smear dish soap inside your slicks before mounting them to keep them from leaking. Did I dream this or is that true? I'm mounting up a new set of Hoosiers this weekend and my last set leaked a lot. I'd like to improve the leak down rate if possible. I tried a search without any luck.

It works well....Use the regular "Dawn" dish soap.

Yes, dump it in and mop it good with a rag......get the sidwalls as well.

I like to let it dry and put on a second coat.

Use the "Dawn" not the cheap stuff...

Use the whole bottle! 1/2 per side of course

If you do use the wife's, make sure you clean all the black hand prints off, dead give away.

another fix for that is get a can of Fixaflat.Dismount tire and rub on just like the Dawn in stages.Works great.My skinnies on the front kept going down and I used this.No problem since.

I can write a book on stuff to not borrow from the household.

Silverware, measuring cups, small mirrors, towels, ...........never ever use the dishwasher to clean parts or the oven to heat stuff up. Don not under any circumstances use the bathtub to wash out a K&N filter, or wash shop rags in the washing machine.

Dawn corroded my wheels, left pits in them.

How did it get on your wheels, didn't you let it dry?
