Carb to small?
I think my carb may be to small? Just got engine back together & took the car to the track & it would only run a 6.95 @ 98 mph leaving off trans brake at 3000 rpms and 60 foot time of 1.450. 477 ci zero decked ,mildly ported dove heads, 615 589 lift 294 304 dur cam, 11:7 to 1 compression , c6 with 4200 stall, 456 gears, 830 holley dp carb, porto-sonic intake. Did not have a chance to get car weighed yet,the car is a 1970 mustang coupe with fiberglass front clip & front window is lexan. I hope this is enough information?

PortoSonic is a single plane but I agree it needs a 1050

Re: Carb to small?
The one I had was a single plane and although it wasn't as good as victor,it works well on a low volumn iron head.

No a port-o-sonic is an old offy race single plane.
A Victor 4500 and a 1050 is a much better choice or Even a TFS Single plane.
Times aren't hoorible for the parts mentioned and if its not sorted out yet.

Re: Carb to small?
If the carburetor you're using now is tuned reasonably well I doubt it'll ET any better with a 1050 but it's worth a try if you have one to use.
